The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
